SPRINGFIELD — Michael P. D’Amour has been elected to serve as a corporate director on the board of Big Y Foods. D’Amour is currently executive vice president and will continue in his role of overseeing sales, marketing, distribution and merchandising for the company.

He is the third generation of D’Amour family members involved in leadership of the company.

D’Amour joined Big Y in 1987 as a service clerk in their East Longmeadow store and has worked in all areas of the markets

D’Amour is a member of the Food Marketing Institute and serves on the operations committee for Topco Associates.

Rutkowski joinsColdwell Banker 

AMHERST — Valena “Val” Rutkowski has joined Coldwell Banker Upton-Massamont Realtors in its Amherst office.

Rutkowski lives in Belchertown with her two children. She has a degree from Holyoke Community College and has spent the last 15 years in customer service, first at Bank of America and most recently at Amherst College.

Rutkowski is a member of the Realtor Association of the Pioneer Valley, and both National and Massachusetts Associations of Realtors. Her primary focus will be residential real estate in Hampshire and Franklin counties.

Labrie named a ‘40 Under Forty’ leader

SOUTHAMPTON — Business West recognized Tiffany Labrie, a senior project manager and associate at Tighe & Bond in Westfield, as a 2018 “40 Under Forty” leader. The award recognizes exceptional leadership both on the job and within the community.

Labrie, of Southampton, joined Tighe & Bond in 2005 as a water and wastewater treatment engineer, and has designed and managed water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects throughout New England. She is a stockholder and team leader.

A licensed engineer in Massachusetts, Labrie holds a bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is a member of the Water Environment Federation and the New England Water Environment Association, has co-authored several technical publications, and presents frequently at professional conferences.

Labrie was the clerk of the Southampton Planning Board from 2013-2018. She has volunteered for the Distinguished Young Women Program of Greater Easthampton since 2005 and serves on the advisory council of the UMass Amherst Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Crocker wins ATSI Award of Excellence

GREENFIELD — Crocker Communications Inc. has been honored with the ATSI Award of Excellence for the 10th year. This award is presented annually by the Association of TeleServices International, the industry’s Trade Association for providers of telecommunications and call center services, including telephone answering and message delivery, across North America and the U.K.

Independent judges are contracted by ATSI to evaluate message services over a six-month period. The scoring criteria include response time, courteousness of rep, accuracy of call, knowledge of account and overall impression of call. 

Bulkley Richardsonopens Hampshire County office

SPRINGFIELD — Bulkley Richardson has moved from its Amherst location into a more spacious office at 380 Russell St. in Hadley.

Seunghee Cha, partner, will be located primarily in Hadley, where she has a comprehensive estate planning and administration practice, including special-needs planning for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The opening of the new office is the latest expansion of the Springfield law firm. The 35-attorney firm is nearly a century old.

Melton promoted at Florence Bank

FLORENCE — Florence Bank has promoted Jeremy Melton, of Holyoke, to the position of first vice president / risk management, compliance and community reinvestment act officer.

Melton joined Florence Bank in 2012. Prior to his recent promotion, he served as vice president / risk management, compliance and CRA officer. Melton supports his community as the board chair and finance/audit committee member at Tapestry. Melton also serves as a board member for the Western Massachusetts Compliance Association.
