SOUTH DEERFIELD — The case of a Sunderland Road man facing five counts of illegal wiretapping of Deerfield town employees may be dismissed in October.

If not, it is scheduled to go before a jury trial later that month.

Michael Killeen, 38, went before Greenfield District Court Tuesday morning for a pretrial conference hearing, at which it was decided a motion to dismiss the case will be on Oct. 4. If it is not dismissed, a jury trial is slated for Oct. 15.

The charges stem from an appeal Killeen made to Deerfield Police Chief John Paciorek Jr. in March, asking him to lift his no-trespass order, preventing him from entering Town Hall at times other than public meetings. Killeen allegedly provided the chief with recordings of three town employees to prove he is not a threat. Paciorek instead charged him with wiretapping. He was arraigned in April.
