EASTHAMPTON — Police have arrested Scott Savoie of Indian Orchard for allegedly fleeing from police and committing armed robberies in Easthampton and West Springfield.

Savoie, 48, is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for a police officer, motor vehicle charges and two MTC warrants (armed robbery, motor vehicle offenses), according to a post on the West Springfield Police Department Facebook page.

At 2:29 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 7-Eleven on Union Street in Easthampton. Upon police arrival, the suspect fled the scene and was eventually stopped and identified by police in Northampton, where he once again fled, according to the Easthampton Police Department Facebook page.

Savoie was arrested by Springfield and West Springfield police at around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday after police responded to a report of a robbery at the UPS Store in West Springfield, where the perpetrator was armed with a pipe.

Based on the victim’s report, police found and pursued the suspect vehicle, eventually stopping the vehicle on Sumner Avenue, where the victim, a UPS Store employee, identified Savoie. 

According to the post, Savoie is also suspected of an additional armed robbery that occurred at 9:58 p.m. at the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Westfield Street in West Spring field.
