GRANBY — A single-car crash in Granby early Sunday morning sent the driver to the hospital and forced the closing of East Street for a few hours, public safety officials said.
Shortly before 7 a.m., an SUV towing a trailer smashed into a utility pole on East Street. The cause of the crash is not yet known and remains under investigation, according to Police Sgt. Gary Poehler.
The driver, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with what Poehler said is believed to be minor injuries. He did not know which hospital the driver had been taken to.
Granby firefighters and police, as well as South Hadley firefighters, responded to the scene. East Street was closed for a few hours while the crash was investigated, Poehler said.
