Crossing guard gives a friendly reminder

I am a crossing guard in Easthampton, and now that school has started, I would like to take this time to remind drivers of some of the rules of the road.

Obey the speed limit, stop at stop signs, use turn signals, do not stop in the middle of a crosswalk, pay attention to the road (hint: stay off cellphones), if you see a crossing guard, that means children are going to or leaving school and might have to cross the road, and above all be courteous.

It’s a tough world out there, and a little kindness goes a long way. Thank you.
