Stop endorsing candidates

As we approach our next election and having a hope to improve the validity of these same election results, I call upon the DHG to conclude its policy of endorsing candidates. The newspaper does a terrific job of interviewing and publicizing the stances of all candidates willing to sit with the interviewers. There is no pure community need for endorsements. Why should a handful of staff use the power of circulation to influence the public to their selections?ย Reminds me of a mild version of smoky rooms filled with political bosses. I know most, if not all, newspapers do the same, but that is not an excuse. I implore the Gazette management to treat this matter with a serious discussion.
