Northampton native Erin Voss is off to a fast start with the top-ranked Stanford women’s swimming & diving team.

The Cardinal junior set a Gibb Pool record in the 200-yard backstroke during Stanford’s 169-86 win over Washington State, Friday in Pullman, Washington.

Voss finished in 1 minutes, 56.58 seconds for the Cardinal (2-0), who won their 25th straight dual meet, including 23 straight in the Pac-12.

Army 175, UMass 125 — Ansley Baker won the 500 free and 100 free, but the Minutewomen fell at home.

Men’s swimming & diving

Army 176, UMass 113 — Casey Ransford won the 100 butterfly and Reece Donahue won the 3-meter dive, but the Minutemen fell at home.

Women’s soccer

UMass 2, Davidson 1 — Jenny Hipp and Lauren Bonavita each scored, while Julia Taffuri and Erin Doster had assists as the Minutewomen (10-3-1, 5-1-1 Atlantic 10) won on the road.

Women’s cross country

Suffolk Invitational — Haley Marek (Westhampton) was 31st in 22:14 as Endicott finished second out of 17 teams at Franklin Park in Boston.

Women’s volleyball

Amherst 3, Hamilton 0 — Emily Kolsky had eight kills and 16 digs as the Mammoths (13-3, 5-2 NESCAC) won at home.
