GRANBY – A two-car crash at the intersection of Amherst and Aldrich streets on Friday morning caused a car to turn on its side, leaving three people injured.
When first responders arrived at the scene of the crash at about 11:45 a.m. they found a Honda Element on its side and a silver Subaru sedan with front end damage, according to the Granby Police Department. While the driver of the Subaru was not injured, the three passengers of the Honda were brought to the hospital for their injuries.
Witnesses of the crash told police that they saw the Honda traveling south on Amherst Street when the car left the roadway, went up an embarkment and rolled over at least twice before crashing into the northbound Subaru, according to Granby police.
The driver of the Honda had reportedly lost consciousness after the crash, but police said he had regained consciousness by the time they arrived on the scene.
Granby first responders were assisted by ambulances from South Hadley District 1 and a fire engine from South Hadley District 2.
The crash is being investigated by Granby police.
