The 4×800-meter relay fits the Northampton indoor track and field team. The Blue Devils boys and girls teams both won the event at the MSTCA Winter Festival small school event Sunday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Northampton’s boys team crossed the line in 8 minutes, 29.45 seconds, while the girls won in 10:19.09.

Benjamin Gordon Sniffen took first in the boys 1,000-meter run in 2 minutes, 37.05 seconds.

Emma Harder finished second in the girls 55 in 7.53 seconds. Mary Yount was second in the girls mile (5:17.56).

Ethan Cooper placed second in the boys 600 (1:24.9) followed right behind by Eben Saveson in third (1:27.36).

Hamp nearly sweeps duals

The Northampton indoor track and field teams went 7-1 at Friday’s late meet at Smith College.

Northampton’s girls team beat Chicopee 80-15, East Longmeadow 50-45, Longmeadow 59-36, Minnechaug 69-26. South Hadley won 78-17 against Greenfield, 71-24 against Ludlow and 61-34 against Pope Francis. The Blue Devils boys won 59-36 against Chicopee, 71-24 against East Longmeadow and 64-31 against Minnechaug. They lost 71-24 to Longmeadow.

In the late girls meet, Harder won the 55 meter dash in 7.56 seconds. She also finished second in the 300 (43.4).

Mary Yount placed first in the 1,000 for the Blue Devils (3:11.11).

South Hadley’s Farrel Dawson was first in the 600 (1:47.03).

Lindsay Marjanski cleared 5-2 in the high jump to win for the Tigers.

Savannah Sudyka was first in the shot put (35-00).

On the boys side, South Hadley’s Jonas Clark was first in the 55 (6.82).

Northampton’s Simon LaClair placed first in the boys 600 (1:30.01).

Luke Petrosky finished first in the boys 1,000 for the Tigers (2:50.58).

Tobias Lesperance won the two-mile for the Blue Devils (10:42.88)

South Hadley beat Greenfield 52-42, Ludlow 59-27 and Pope Francis 49-42.

In the girls early meet,Amherst Regional’s Isabela Shepard won Friday’s early girls 600-meter run in 1 minute, 47.33 seconds at Smith College. She was also fourth in the 300 (48.29).

The Hurricanes won the girls 4×400 relay (4:43.56).

Hampshire’s Parker Pallante finished first in the girls high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches.

Amherst lost 38-37 to Putnam and beat Sabis 34-33. The Hampshire Regional girls Lost 54-41 to Mohawk and 55-39 against Southwick. The Raiders beat Pioneer Regional 68-23.

In the boys early meet, Amherst’s Junior Pontes da Veiga won in 6.75 seconds.

The Hurricanes’ boys 4×400 finished first in 3:37.9.

Hampshire’s Jacob Labrie placed second in the two-mile (10:49.83).

Amherst beat Putnam 55-9 and Sabis 43-34. Hampshire went 3-0 against Mohawk (54-36), Pioneer Regional (47-46) and Southwick (51-39).
