Sophomore Owen Morse drilled a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the corner, as the Frontier Regional boys basketball team beat Monson, 58-55, on the road Monday.

The Red Hawks (2-1) led the whole game until the Mustangs (2-2) went up eight with four minutes left.

Frontier battled back and tied the game with one minute left. After each team missed, the Red Hawks went for a layup late, but the ball went out of bounds off Monson.

The Red Hawks set up a play and Morse knocked down his fifth 3 of the game. He finished with a career-high 19 points.

“The guys showed a lot of character and guts tonight, going on the road, playing a tough team without having our anchor player,” Frontier coach Ben Barshefsky said.

Frontier played without Carsten Carey, who is day-to-day with an injury.

Kalen Evans finished with 16 points, while Peter Carey had nine points and 19 rebounds.

Belchertown 64, South Hadley 59 — The Lanoue brothers combined for 41 points and four 3-pointers as the Orioles (2-2) won on the road. Corey Lanoue had 21 points on four 3s, while Jordan Lanoue added 20.

Corey Lanoue scored seven his 21 points in the fourth quarter, as Belchertown outscored South Hadley 20-12 to rally.

James Lawless had 11 points in the win.

Hunter Carey had 26 points for the Tigers (0-6).

Easthampton 56, Mahar 52 — The Eagles (2-1) trailed 52-51 with 50 seconds left, but Ronan Mottor hit five free throws down the stretch for the win at home.

Mottor finished with a game-high 21 points. Drew Caires added 12 points, while Jack Bacis had 10.

Turners Falls 67, Hampshire Regional 56 — The Raiders couldn’t climb out of a 17-2 hole. Luke Krause and Justin Forest scored 10 points each for Hampshire (0-4). Nick Pellegrini added nine points, and Ryan Gaskins scored eight.

Southwick 61, Smith Academy 48 — Brett Gratz had 19 points and Jack Zigmont added 14, but the Falcons fell on the road.
