EASTHAMPTON — Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing the Easthampton Savings Bank on Main Street Friday afternoon.
At around 2:44 p.m., officers responded to a reported bank robbery at the 36 Main St. location.
The suspect passed a note to a bank teller demanding money and implying that he had a weapon, Easthampton Police Chief Robert Alberti said.
According to a post on the Easthampton Police Department Facebook page, the suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is a middle-aged white man described as pale-skinned, heavyset and about 5 feet 5 inches tall, according to the post. At the time of the robbery, he wore “a black knit winter hat, black scarf, black gloves with red on the fingers, a blue jacket over a gray hoodie, black pants, sunglasses and a white gauze over his left eye.”
