The Hampshire Regional girls alpine ski team finished first in the South Division, while the boys squad placed second in the third PVIAC race of the season, Thursday at Berkshire East in Charlemont.
Summer Duda was 15th overall in 43.37 seconds on the slalom course to pace the girls team. Duda was seventh in the South Division. Teammate Katelynn Dunn was 21st overall in 50.53.
Hampshire had a combined time of 216.71 seconds to edge East Longmeadow (228.15).
The Hampshire boys finished with a combined time of 111.12 seconds on the giant slalom course. St. Maryโs was first (108.79).
Hampshire had two skiers in the top 10. Edward Przybyla was fifth overall and second in the South in 24.77. Dawson Kelly was eighth overall and fourth in the division in 25.28.
The Northampton girls finished third (190.63) in the North behind Longmeadow (188.87) and Mohawk (189.22).
Ellie Mahoney was second overall in 37.61 to lead the Blue Devils. Taylor Loomis, of Mohawk, had the top time of 35.05.
Juliet Scott, of the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School, was fifth overall and second in the South in 38.68. Areia Heilman, of Frontier, was eighth (40.43), followed by Amherstโs Sora Green (40.49) and Gateway Regionalโs Jessica Garriepy (41.11).
Scottโs teammates Ella Gander (42.33) and Sarah Fardal (50.15) were 14th and 20th, respectively.
Northamptonโs Abbie Denhart was 13th (42.29).
In the boys race, Gateway Regionalโs Zachary Ames was sixth overall in 24.86. Benjamin Delacour, of Northampton, was 12th in 25.70.
Sebastian English, of PVCICS, Gatewayโs Ryan Ames and Amherstโs Joey Green each placed in the top 20. English was 14th (26.05) followed by Ames (15th, 26.25) and Green (26.90), who tied for 19th.
