Parking bans are going into effect in advance of the snowstorm expected to arrive sometime Saturday night and last through Sunday.

In Amherst, a three-day winter parking ban will begin at midnight Saturday and run through 7 a.m. Tuesday

During the ban, which runs each day from midnight to 7 a.m., no overnight on-street parking or parking in town lots is allowed. Vehicles in violation will be issued tickets and be towed.

Three places where people can park during these hours are the lower level of the Boltwood parking garage, the town portion of the Pray Street parking lot and the northern row of the North Pleasant Street parking lot, adjacent to the parish center at St. Brigid’s Church.
