EASTHAMPTON — Police have released new photos of a car that they believe was used as a getaway vehicle in the Jan. 11 bank robbery at Easthampton Savings Bank on Main Street.

Police are searching for a car believed to be a dark-colored 2006-2009 Toyota Yaris, according to a Thursday morning post on the department’s Facebook page. The car also has six-spoke wheel coverings, possible damage to its bumper and left side-body and possibly has stickers on its rear and windows.

The robbery occurred at around 2:44 p.m. on Jan. 11 when the suspect passed a note to a bank teller demanding money and implying that he had a weapon. According to the post, the incident is being investigated as an armed robbery.

The suspect is a middle-aged white man in his early 40s to early 50s, according to the post. He is described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, overweight, and wearing a navy blue jacket over a gray hoodie, dark sunglasses, black pants, a black knit hat, black scarf and black gloves with red on the back. He also wore a bandage or eye patch over his left eye that was “described as looking fake.”

Anyone with information on the vehicle or suspect is encouraged to contact the Easthampton Police Department Detective Bureau at 413-527-1212.
