Jack Zigmont had 17 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, while Brett Gratz finished with 28 points as the Smith Academy boys basketball team stunned Frontier Regional, 69-61, Wednesday in South Deerfield.

The Red Hawks (15-2, 4-1 Hampshire North) beat the Falcons (6-10, 3-2) by 39 points last month in Hatfield.

The game was tied entering the fourth when Smith outscored Frontier 23-15.

“Gratz and Zigmont hit a lot of tough contested shots,” Red Hawks coach Ben Barshefsky said. “We did not do a good job shutting down two dynamic scorers.”

The Falcons hit 11 3-pointers, including 10 by Gratz and Zigmont combined. Gratz had six 3s.

Carsten Carey put up a game-high 30 points for the Red Hawks in the loss. Peter Carey added 16 points.

Franklin Tech 56, Smith Vocational 43 — Colin Earle scored a team-high 13 points, converting seven from the line, in the road loss.

Tyler Top added 12 points (two 3s) for the Vikings (7-8).

Hockey

Easthampton 4, Greenfield 3 — Jake Batchelder and Ely Boyle each scored twice as the Eagles (10-5-0, 5-2-0 Wright) held off the Green Wave and qualified for the postseason, Wednesday at Lossone Rink.

One of Boyle’s goals was short-handed.

Jake Delisle had a pair of assists, while Mike McColgan and Christpher Tenczar had one assist apiece.

Tyler Cortis made 29 saves in the win.

Aiden Roche scored twice, including one short-handed, and Jacob Bryant had two assists for the Wave (11-2-2, 5-1-2). Doug Hanieski had one goal, while Bryan Baumann had one assist. Riley Drew made 28 saves.

South Hadley 2, Drury 2 — Matt Brunelle and Michael Mazza were assisted by Thenis Tsilibocos and Joe Cigal, respectively, in the second period as the Tigers entered the third tied at 2-2 at Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink in North Adams.

Anthony Cigal had 22 saves for the Tigers (9-4-2).
