I applaud Jim McGovern for vowing to no longer accept corporate donations. For far too long, our government has been putting money and power before its citizens. As a longtime member of the Green Party and Green-Rainbow Party who championed this years ago, I am thrilled to see recognition by some of the members of the Democratic party which hopefully will become mainstream for them. Then we will finally work on the major problems facing us: climate destabilization, poverty, racism, improving schools and health care for all. These are only a few of the major issues facing all of us so let’s empower those who are willing to do what is right.
