I want to thank Sen. Markey for his effort in putting forth the Green New Deal legislation. From what I have seen about it, the impact it could have on our country would be amazing. With that in mind, I worry about his colleagues’ motion to call the vote on it. Please be wary of this. Please, let’s have the hearings held on it, let’s educate Congress and the American people about the details and the impact that it can make. Sen. Markey should not let it get a token vote, fail and become fodder for the campaign ad circuit, not let it get hustled in and shoved out. I think he has the experience to see this move forward and the sense to know when, in the words of Admiral Ackbar, “It’s a trap!” Good luck to him, and I’m thankful for his work. I’m proud that one of my senators is leading the way on this.
