Tyler Top hit six 3-pointers and scored 21 points as the Smith Vocational boys basketball team rolled past St. Mary’s, 66-35, to cap an undefeated run through the Tri-County South.

Andrew Pierce chipped in 17 points, 13 of which came in the first half as the league-champion Vikings (10-9, 8-0) took a 21-point lead at intermission in Northampton.

Cole Boisvert scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter for Smith Vocational.

Jayvon Cordova had five points, six assists and five steals.

Easthampton 69, South Hadley 45 — Senior Drew Caires scored a career-best 18 points on senior night to help the Eagles complete a second-consecutive unbeaten run through the Bi-Couty East.

Ronan Mottor scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Eagles (14-6, 8-0 Bi-County East) and Jack Bacis added 13 points.

The Tigers (6-14, 5-3) were led by 17 points from Hunter Carey and 10 from Dylan Cottingham.

Frontier Regional 69, Athol 57 — Carsten Carey scored 23 points and secured 16 rebounds to lead the Red Hawks to a road win over Athol.

Kalen Evans chipped in 14 points for the Red Hawks (17-3, 6-2 Hampshire North).

Girls basketball

Northampton 42, Longmeadow 31 — Amanda Mieczkowski scored 15 points and Kolbie Jones added 11 as the Blue Devils held off Longmeadow at home.

Hamp (16-4) fell behind in the first quarter after going 1-for-8 from free-throw line, but locked down on defense in the second to hold Longmeadow to a single basket and take an eight-point lead at halftime.

Granby 63, Palmer 37 — The Rams jumped out a 34-17 halftime lead en route to the win that clinched a share of the Central League title.

Granby (10-10, 6-2), which started the season 4-8, has won six of eight to grab momentum entering the postseason.

Nora Young had 19 points and four blocks, while Kayla McCreary had 11 points. Julia Frappier added four points, five rebounds and three steals. Freshman Paige Galusha played her first varsity game and finished with eight points.

South Hadley 52, Ludlow 33 — Bella Earle dropped 14 points and Mia Kelly added 11 points as the Tigers (15-5, 8-0 Suburban) capped an undefeated run through the league with the regular-season ending win at home.

Olivia Marion had nine points in the win.

Hockey

South Hadley 2, Wahconah 0 — The Tigers (11-5-2 overall) improved to 5-3-1 in the Fay League with the win at the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club.
