Northampton senior Brigitte Goeler-Slough tallied four points, and the Longmeadow girls hockey team beat Masconomet 6-1 on Saturday to advance to the Division 1 state quarterfinals.
She had two goals and two assists.
The seventh-seeded Lancers outscored No. 23 Masconomet 5-0 in the second and third periods.
They’ll face No. 15 Shrewsbury in the next round. The Colonials upset No. 2 Duxbury 3-2 on Sunday. Quarterfinal dates, sites and times are to be determined.
Amherst Regional’s boys 4×400-meter relay placed sixth at the New England championships Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. They crossed the line in 3 minutes, 26.41 seconds.
Isabela Shepard took sixth in the girls 600 in 1:36.61.
Northampton’s boys 4×8 was 10th (8:10.0).
Northampton senior Benjamin Gordon Sniffen finished 12th in the boys 1000 (2:36.86).
