Tyler Thomas had 17 points, but the Williston Northampton boys basketball team lost 51-44 against top-seeded Exeter in Sunday’s NEPSAC Class A championship game at Western New England University.
Exeter led 10-0 before Thomas hit a 3 to put the Wildcats on the scoreboard.
Nik Kovacevic scored nine points, while John Kelly and Andre Washington each added seven.
Williston rebounded from an 8-10 record with an eight-game winning streak to reach the final.
The Wildcats beat Hotchkiss 91-73 in Saturday’s semifinal.
Kelly led the way with 30 points on 10 3s and grabbed eight rebounds. Thomas added 24 points and nine rebounds with five 3s. Washington scored a career-high 18 points.
