The UMass men’s lacrosse team scored 13 consecutive goals and held Utah scoreless for 43 minutes, 56 seconds in a 16-2 victory at Garber Field on Sunday.

UMass moved to 5-3 overall. The Utes, a first-year Division I program, dropped to 4-6.

Sean Sconone notched nine saves in net while the Minutemen forced 13 turnovers.

Chris Connolly had four goals and four assists, while Kevin Tobin scored five goals with two assists.

Kevin Cutinella and Devin Spencer each had two goals and an assist. Jeff Trainor had a goal and assist.

Amherst 17, RIT 16 — Evan Wolf (assist) scored four goals, while Matt Solberg had a pair of goals and assists as the Mammoths (5-0) won on Saturday in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Women’s lacrosse

Dartmouth 19, UMass 7 — Haley Connaughton and Stephanie Croke each scored twice with an assist, but the Minutewomen (5-3) could not keep up in Hanover, New Hampshire, on Sunday.

Amherst 11, The College of New Jersey 6 — Becky Kendall netted three goals, including two of the final three, as the Mammoths (4-1) pulled away late, Saturday at Pratt Field.

Claire Dunbar and Maia Noyes each had two goals.

Baseball

Kennesaw State 12, UMass 2 — Anthony Videtto was 3-for-4 but the Minutemen (4-7) fell on Saturday in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Kennesaw State 12, UMass 7 — Connor Smith was 2-for-4 with three RBIs as the Minutemen (4-8) closed their spring break week with the loss on Sunday.

Amherst 11, Anderson 3; Anderson 3, Amherst 2 — Chase Henley was 3-for-7 with four RBIs and a home run as the Mammoths (5-3) split their Saturday doubleheader in Kissimmee, Florida.

Stephen Burke (four RBIs) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in the win. Kyler Kopacz was 2-for-3 with a solo homer in the loss.

Springfield 5, Rutgers-Camden 4 — Noah Bleakley (Granby) was 1-for-4 with a run for the Pride (1-2), Saturday in Auburndale, Florida.

Case Western Reserve 12, Western New England 2 — Jake Balderston (Hadley, Amherst Regional) walked and scored a run, but the Golden Bears (2-2) fell in Lexington, South Carolina, Saturday.

WPI 22, New England 21; New England 6, WPI 5 — Evan Delaney (Hadley) was 3-for-6 with a home run and five RBIs, but the Pilgrims dropped Game 1 of their doubleheader in Northborough.

Delaney was 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs in Game 2.

Jameson Carey (Amherst) stole a base in each game. Selah Dalomba (Amherst) struck out one in one perfect inning of relief in Game 2.

Softball

Tufts 4, Amherst 3 — Kate Kopatic and Sage Innerarity each had two hits for the Mammoths, Saturday in Kissimmee, Florida.

Amherst 9, Marian 6 — Alyson Plaman was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs as the Mammoths (8-2) rebounded from their loss in their second game Saturday in Kissimmee, Florida.

UMass Dartmouth 5, Rutgers-Newark 1 — Anna Kerwood (Florence) struck out two, walked one and allowed two hits and one unearned run over the first four innings to pick up her third win in four decisions for the Corsairs (7-5), Saturday in Ksissimmee, Florida.

Men’s tennis

Amherst 9, Colorado College 0 — The Mammoths (4-2) did not drop a set in their final match in Orlando, Saturday.
