EASTHAMPTON — Eight contestants are vying for the title of this year’s annual Mr. Easthampton.

The mock beauty pageant is in its 13th year and it takes place on Friday at the Easthampton High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

“It’s a really fun, healthy act that students run,” said Nancy Dunn, an organizer for the event. She is an advisor to the EHS Students against Destructive Decisions, the group sponsoring the pageant.

The pageant will consist of an “opening number,” which will be a Boy Band-themed choreographed dance; a formal wear competition; a question and answer period; an impersonation of a super hero; and a talent portion.

Mr. Easthampton will receive a prom package that includes two prom tickets, a dinner to yet to be determined restaurant in Easthampton, a free haircut and boutonniere and corsage.

Prizes will also be given out to Mr. Congeniality, Best Talent and Best Super Hero.

Tickets are available at the Easthampton High School by calling (413) 529-1500. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door.
