Southern Maine 24, New England College 18 โ€” Tara Bainbridge (South Hadley) broke her own school record for points in a game with 13 and tied her own school record for goals in a game with 10 but the Pilgrims (7-4) fell at home.

Amherst 5, Elms 1 โ€” Nick Nardone had two hits, while Stephen Burke and Chase Henley each scored twice as the Mammoths (12-7) won at home.

Andrew Serio (Northampton) and Kevin Banas (Hatfield) each walked for the Blazers (3-17).

Softball

Central Connecticut 6, UMass 4 โ€” Melissa Garcia (RBI, run) had two hits, but the Minutewomen (18-15) couldnโ€™t take advantage of eight walks and eight hits, and left 11 on base on the loss at Sortino Field.
