Sophia Jones (RBI, run) was 2-for-3, while Cristina Negron (Easthampton) and Sydni Landman each had one RBI as the Williston Northampton softball team beat Marianapolis, 3-1, Wednesday in Easthampton.

The Wildcats played well defensively. Shoko Ishikawa made a catch and throw from deep center to prevent a run. Jones threw out a runner trying to steal.

Jersey Strum recorded six strikeouts for the win.

Baseball

Salisbury 3, Williston 2 โ€” Kyle Grabowski drove in Jonathan Toth in the sixth to tie the game at 2-2, but the Crimson Nights won at home.

Catcher Aidan Burke threw out a runner attempting to steal. Cal Messina (run) was hit by a pitch twice.

Boys lacrosse

Kimball Union 11, Williston 10 โ€” Joe Ford (assist) had four goals, while Ryan Fitzpatrick (goal) caused three turnovers and picked up six ground balls, but the Wildcats dropped their home opener.

Girls lacrosse

Williston 15, Miss Porterโ€™s 4 โ€” Shayla Heekin (assist) had six goals, Campbell Nyarady (assist) finished with four, and Rachel Burke (assist) and Emma Gentile each had two as the Wildcats (1-1) cruised.

Kate Holmes (goal) had two assists and Christina Vote eight saves.

Boys tennis

Williston 6, Pomfret 1 โ€” Kenny Wang (Amherst) and Nikhil Sierros (Florence) won at first and second singles, respectively, to pace the Wildcats (2-1) at home.

Girls tennis

Wilbraham & Monson 4, Williston 3 โ€” The Wildcats picked up a pair of doubles wins from Anya Rozario and Lydia Ji, and Brooke Smith and Glede Wang in the road loss.

Hana Tsukamoto won her singles match.

Boys golf

Williston 205, Cheshire 251 โ€” Cam Mariani was match medalist with a 39, while Owen Randolph (40), Tom Lawry (40) and Tyler Senecal (42) added to the home win for Wildcats (3-1).

Girls golf

Williston 4ยฝ, Ethel Walker ยฝ; Hotchkiss 4ยฝ, Williston ยฝ โ€” Mariel Sutinen shot a 46 at Southampton Country Club to earn medalist honors for the Wildcats (1-1).

Girls water polo

Williston 14, Suffield 8 โ€” The Wildcats held on for the win at home.

Girls ultimate

Williston 11, Longmeadow JVA 4 โ€” Abby Seltzer had six assists and two goals. Anita Hua (goal) contributed three assists while Minami Ogino (assist) had three goals for the Wildcats (4-1).
