The UMass women’s lacrosse team capped an unbeaten run during Atlantic 10 conference play Saturday, beating George Washington 21-9 at home.

The Minutewomen will he the top seed in next weekend’s A-10 tournament next weekend in Fairfax, Virginia.

Kiley Anderson scored five goals and added an assist. Stephanie Croke (two assists) and Hannah Palau each found the net four times.

Kaitlyn Cerasi added a hat trick and two assists for the Minutewomen (14-3, 9-0 A-10).

Haley Connaughton had two goals and an assist, while Cassidy Doster scored twice.

Lauren Hiller made six saves.

Amherst 13, Bates 4 — Claire Dunbar tallied two goals and three assists, while Isabelle Sennett added two goals and two assists in a home win Saturday.

Becky Kendall found the net four times. Leah Ritterband had a goal and two assists for the Mammoths (10-4, 5-4 NESCAC). Maia Noyes scored and had an assist.

Talia Land saved four shots.

Coast Guard 9, Mount Holyoke 7 — Caroline Flynn, Northampton grad Abby Baldwin and Deyscha Smith each scored twice Saturday on the road.

Mia Wysocki made 12 saves.

Connecticut College 15, Smith 4 — Chloe Harris, Cielie Fielding, Bryn Murray and Maddie Ryan each found the net once in a Saturday loss. Alyssa Schams stopped nine shots, and Abby Edwards made one save for the Pioneers (8-7).

Baseball

UMass 6, Maine 5 — Eddy Hart (RBI, run) and Anthony Videtto (two RBIs) each singled twice in a win Saturday.

Ryan Lever and Kane Medina both doubled for the Minutemen (13-19). Sean Harney picked the win after striking out six and allowing just four hits and two walks in 5⅓ innings.

Nolan Kessinger tripled and drove in a run.

Hartford 7, UMBC 4; UMBC 8, Hartford 2 — Northampton grad Devin Kellogg hit his first career grand slam for the Hawks in the third inning Saturday. He finished the two-game weekend split with three hits.

Softball

Williams 2, Amherst 0; Williams 5, Amherst 0 — Sammy Salustri, Nicole Trezza, Audrey Hansen and Annie Murphy singled Sunday, but the Mammoths (16-10, 3-6 NESCAC) were swept.

Men’s lacrosse

Amherst 25, Bates 12 — Evan Wolf (two assists) and Jon Coffey scored four goals each in a Saturday win. Colin Minicus and Ethan Kazmierski (assist) both had hat tricks. Trenton Shore (two goals) and Matt Solberg (goal) each distributed two assists.

Dylan Peabody, Jack Patton, Chase Yager and Jimmy McAfee all had a goal and an assist for the Mammoths (12-2, 7-2 NESCAC).

Cam Mitchell saved nine shots, and Gib Versfeld stopped two.

UMass 17, Fairfield 8 — Chris Conolly distributed six assists and scored two goals of his own in a win Saturday.

Gabriel Procyk added five goals, while Kevin Tobin had a hat trick and two assists for UMass (9-4, 3-1 CAA).

Charlie O’Brien had a goal and two assists. Jeff Trainor and Billy Philpott each scored twice.

Women’s tennis

Wheaton 8 Smith 1 — Betsy Hiller beat Harley Swainston 6-1, 7-6 (7) at No. 6 singles on Saturday for the Pioneers (1-11, 1-6 NEWMAC).

Wellesley 8, Mount Holyoke 1 — Hannah Middleton won 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 at No. 6 singles Saturday for the Lyons (10-9, 3-4 NEWMAC).

Amherst 6, Williams 3; Wesleyan 6, Amherst 3 — The Mammoths split their weekend matches. Camille Smulker went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, defeating Williams Chloe Henderson 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday and Wesleyan’s Venia Yeung 2-6, 64, 7-6 (3).

Men’s tennis

Amherst 5, Williams 4; Wesleyan 6, Amherst 1 — William Turchetta and Sean Wei sealed a Saturday victory for the Mammoths. Wei won 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 over Arturo Kam at No. 1 singles, while Turchetta preailed 1-6, 6-2, 6-0 against Peter Frelinghuysen at No. 6. Amherst spit its weekend matches after the Mammohts fell to Wesleyan on Sunday for their first conference loss of the year.

Men’s track & field

Tufts Sunshine Classic — Amherst’s Arinze Uddoh won the 100-meter dash in 11.18 seconds Saturday. Henry Buren was first in the 200 (21.77). Ryan Prenosil placed first in the 400 (48.94).

Larry Ellis Invitational — Nathan Adeyemi cleared 14.31 meters in the triple jump to place fourth Saturday. Ryan Long was also fourth in the javelin (58.83m).

Women’s track & field

Tufts Sunshine Classic — Sophia Friedman of Amherst won the 400 (1:00.29) on Saturday.

Larry Ellis Invitational — UMass’ Danielle Notarfrancecso threw the shot put 13.88 meters to place second Saturday.

Holy Cross Invitational — Samantha Thompson cleared 1.68 meters to place second in the high jump for UMass on Saturday. Ivana Nyemeck was second in the triple jump (11.09 meters). Kelly Alves placed second in the discus (40.03 meters). Helene Juzyca finished second in the javelin (34.89 meters).

Springfield Invitational — Mount Holyoke’s Simone Jacob placed first in the 1,500 (4:59.73) on Saturday. Hannah Rieders was first in the 3,000 (10:38.18).

Smith’s Sophia Smith cleared 3.25 meters to win the pole vault.

Women’s golf

Vassar College Invitational — Amherst finished fifth as a team with a 648 over two weekend rounds. Maggie Schoeller led the way with a 159, tied for 17th.

Williams won with a 609.

Mount Holyoke placed eighth (675). Stephanie Spitzer also tired for 17th (159).

Rowing

Mount Holyoke’s varsity eight won on Lake Quinsigamond in 7:58.5, beating Coast Guard and Assumption on Saturday.
