Samantha Moran scored three goals, and Katarzyna Wisnauckas added two goals and an assist, as the Saint Mary girls lacrosse team beat Central, 7-2, in Westfield on Monday.
The Saints won for the first time since the 2015 season. It was also the program’s first win since Hampshire Regional joined St. Mary in the co-op last season.
“It’s great to get our first win and hopefully we’ll be able to build off it and give the girls more confidence as we go along,” St. Mary coach Grace Ahrensdorf said.
Paighton Ramos and Skylar Duda each found the net.
Ramos played the first half in net and made four saves, while April Warner stopped four shots in the second half.
Belchertown 17, Monson 7 — Elise Pikul found the net seven times in a road win. Erin Lucas (two assists) and Lily Guerin had hat tricks for the orioles (5-0, 4-0 Pioneer).
Hannah Mitus scored twice. Kelsey Reardon and Allison Bessette (assist) had a goal each.
Emily Sayball-Wimmer made four saves for the Orioles.
Turners Falls 1, Granby 0 — Pitcher Lindsay Wenzel was injured in the bottom of the fourth inning, ending the game because the Rams (1-2), who started with nine players, couldn’t field a full team.
The Thunder led 16-0 at the time. A game must go five innings for it to be official.
Taconic 5, Frontier Regional 4 — Lily Spencer was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, but the Red Hawks lost their first game of the season. Chloe Cuting also drove in two runs for Frontier (4-1).
Smith Academy 15, Renaissance 2 (5) — Bailey McCoy and Erin Gilrein each homered and drove in two runs for the Falcons (1-2).
Sci-Tech 3, Belchertown 0 — Nathan Wright had seven kills and an ace, as the Orioles fell 25-19, 25-23, 25-18.
Nathan Courchesne added five kills, two assists and two aces. Lucas Czarniecki distributed 10 assists for Belchertown (0-10). Derek Guntor fired four aces.
Minnechaug 3, Smith Vocational 1 — Aman Ruhe had six digs, four kills and a block in a 26-24, 20-25, 25-11, 25-12 loss.
Eric Stoltz (kill) passed six assists. Lukas Sturtevant made two aces and four digs.
Trevonte Moore picked up six digs and had a block and a kill for the Vikings (1-4).
