SOUTHAMPTON — A section of Glendale Road, from Route 10 to Pomeroy Meadow Road, will be closed on weekdays indefinitely.

The closure, which the Southampton Police Department announced on its Facebook page, is due to construction. The section of road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday.

“This will continue for an undetermined amount of time,” the post reads. “Please seek alternate routes and plan your daily commute accordingly.”

The $2.1 million project is the second phase of reconstruction on Glendale Road. The scheduled repairs will include “full depth reconstruction, drainage improvements, improvements to the horizontal and vertical alignment of the roadway, guardrail upgrades, and other incidental work,” according to information from the website of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

The repairs are projected to be complete by the spring of 2020, according to MassDOT.
