Karlie Petlock homered, doubled and drove in two runs as the Smith Vocational softball team beat Gateway Regional, 11-4, to remain unbeaten, Tuesday in Huntington.
Savannah Pierce (two runs), Meghan Cone (two runs) and Sarah Paradee (run) each singled twice. Ashley Schabacker struck out nine and allowed just four hits and two walks for Smith Vocational (6-0, 6-0 Tri-County).
Allison Manos doubled for Gateway (2-2, 2-1), while Stephanie Paiva, Angela Wright and Lily Ryan singled.
Smith Academy 26, Pope Francis 4 (5) โ The Cardinals pulled within 6-4 after the first inning, but the Falcons (2-2, 1-2 Bi-County West) sent 23 batters to the plate and scored 17 runs in the second inning to roll on the road.
Maddie Skawski (three runs scored) was 6-for-6 with three hits in the second inning alone. Bailey McCoy had two of her four hits in the second and scored two of her three runs. Maggie Herlihy had two of her three hits in the second and scored two of her three runs as well.
Erin Gilrein added four hits and five runs scored. Amanda Novak helped herself with four hits and three runs.
Cecilia LaFlamme had three hits, while Karlie Guimond and Abby Pederson (three runs) each walked three times.
Novak allowed three walks and three hits in the first inning, but allowed only three walks the rest of the way. She struck out nine.
Chicopee Comp 9, South Hadley 2 โ Molly Goshea doubled and drove in two runs for the Tigers (0-4). Caroline Matheson singled twice, while Jordyn Duncan had a hit.
Frontier Regional 10, Athol 3 โ Lily Spencer doubled twice, drove in two runs and had three hits in a road win. Makayla Santos added three hits, including a triple, and an RBI for Frontier (5-1, 2-0 Franklin).
Maddie Fifield had two hits, including a double.
Sabis 4, Hopkins Academy 3 โ Sarah Beauchamp had two hits and drove in a run, while Olivia Brighenti (run) and Jessica Markwoski singled for the Golden Hawks (3-1, 1-1 Bi-County West).
Maegan Quinlan struck out five, working around 11 hits and a walk.
Granby 18, St. Mary 6 โ The Ramsโ 2-3-4 hitters combined for nine hits, six RBIs and nine runs in the blowout in Granby.
Ryan Gaughan (three doubles), Josh White and Nolan Sullivan each had three hits, two RBIs and three runs out of No. 2, 3 and 4 spot, respectively.
No. 5 hitter Sam White was 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Michael White struck out six over five innings for the win.
The game was suspended due to rain after 1ยฝ innings on Monday.
Pioneer Christian 6, Smith Vocational 5 โ Cole Boisvert had two hits and drove in three runs for the Vikings. Nathan Mollison doubled twice. John Zatowski, Aidan Pike and Tom Doyle each had a hit and a run for Smith Vocational (5-4, 3-1 Tri-County South).
Frontier Regional 8, Mahar 1 โ Jacob Bryant drove in three runs, while Bryan Baumann had three hits and two RBIs for the Red Hawks. Kyle Barnes scored two runs and stole two bases for Frontier (2-1). Gabe Gochinski struck out five and didnโt allow a run, scattering six hits and two walks in five innings.
