AMHERST — Twice during the last weekend in April party-goers made their way into unlocked homes, according to Amherst Police.

At 11:49 p.m. Friday, a resident on Farview Way, located just north of the University of Massachusetts campus, called police to report three college-age women were entering her home, said Detective Yvonne Feliciano.

The women, whom Feliciano said appeared to be at the wrong residence, quickly departed the dwelling and joined about 30 other party-goers loitering on the street. Nothing was taken from the home and no damage was caused.

A short time later, at 12:29 a.m. Saturday, residents on Railroad Street called police to report finding a man passed out in their off-campus home.

Identified as an Amherst College student, the man was awoken and transported back to campus.

Feliciano said no charges are expected to be filed in either case.

Police only responded to one party in which charges are being brought. That happened at 2:05 a.m. Sunday on Tyler Place, where three men, a 22-year-old from Nyack, New York; a 21-year-old from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and a 19-year-old from Garden City, New Jersey, are all being summoned to court on charges of violating the town’s noise bylaw, Feliciano said.

No noise complaints were made about the largest gatherings.

One occurred in the area of Sunderland Road and Cowls Road in North Amherst at 3:13 a.m. Sunday, where officers encountered a few hundred college-age people walking on the road, with many waiting for Ubers to pick them up. Numerous beer cans and bottles were discovered strewn around the nearby properties.

At 3:37 a.m. Sunday, police encountered a similar scene on Old Farm Road, where officers remained on site for half an hour until dozens of cars, including several Ubers, departed.
