Hannah Mitus scored six goals, while Elise Pikul added four goals and two assists for the Belchertown girls lacrosse team in a 19-5 home win over Monson on Tuesday.

Erin Lucas had a hat trick and two assists. Kate Wrona found the net four times, and Kelsey Reardon added four assists. Lily Guerin scored twice for Belchertown (6-0, 5-0 Pioneer). Emily Sayball-Wimmer stopped five shots.

Hoosac Valley 21, St. Mary 6 โ€” Katarzyna Wisnauckas had a hat trick in a road loss. Sam Moran found the net twice for the Saints (1-8). Skylar Duda scored once, and Serena Griswold had an assist.

April Warner saved eight shots.

Westfield 18, Granby 9 โ€” Ella Laliberte scored four goals in a road loss. Julia Frappier (two assists) and Madison Sexton (one assist) had two goals each for the Rams (7-2, 2-1 Valley). Gabby Walz found the net once. Liberty Conlin made two saves.

Softball

Smith Academy 14, Granby 8 โ€” Maggie Herlihy hit a solo homer in the sixth inning, and Abby Pederson added three RBIs for the Falcons. Taeghan Cavanaugh scored twice for Smith (3-3).

Kelsey Meyers went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Granby (1-4). Paige Parlengas hit a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning.

Hopkins Academy 23, Monson 4 (5) โ€” Eighth grader Jessie Markowski cleared the fence in center field, 210 feet away for her first home run as the Golden Hawks (5-1) rolled on the road.

Markowski finished 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Her sister Allison had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs.

Maegan Quinlan helped herself with three hits, two walks, five RBIs and four runs scored. Olivia Brighenti added two hits, three walks, five runs and two RBIs.

Smith Vocational 17, Sci-Tech 16 โ€” The Vikings, down three starters and deploying players in unfamiliar positions, scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to remain unbeaten.

Morgan Roberts opened the inning with a single then closed it with a walk-off single. She finished with two RBIs.

Ciara Sinno hit a grand slam in the fourth inning, finishing 3-for-4 with six RBIs. Karlie Petlock was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and hit a solo home run in the fifth for Smith Vocational (8-0, 7-0 Tri-County).

Emily Start went 3-for-5 with two runs and hit a two-run double in the seventh.

Alyssa Benedict picked up her first varsity win in relief, pitching the final five innings with three strikeouts.

Gateway Regional 27, Renaissance 1 (5) โ€” The Gators (4-3, 4-1 Tri-County) scored 19 runs in the second inning and finished with 31 hits as they rolled on the road.

Lily Ryan (three runs) was 5-for-5, while Madison Oโ€™Connor was 3-for-3 with two doubles. Stephanie Paiva, Kaitlyn Quinn and Lily Waters each went 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Madison Oโ€™Connor was 3-for-3 and scored twice.

Easthampton 14, Mahar 1 (5) โ€” Tessa Pond had three hits, including a double and drove in two runs for the Eagles. Mackenzie Bates (two hits), Lauren Morse (two hits), Rachael Robinson (three hits, double) and Olivia Downer (two his) drove in two runs each.

Robinson struck out six and allowed just two walks and five hits.

Boys lacrosse

Granby 10, Pathfinder 4 โ€” Mitch Lโ€™Abbee led the Rams with four goals in a home win.

Nate Drapeau (assist) and Kayden Laramee each had a hat trick. Tanner Imelio added two assists, while Logan Gray and Dominic Benoit had one each for Granby (3-6, 3-3 Suburban). Nate Loughman made eight saves.

Belchertown 9, St. Mary 4 โ€” Owen Palmateer finished with six goals and Ben Laliberte added two as the Orioles (5-2) cruised on the road.

Jake Condon (goal) and Matt Pacheco each had two assists. Tony Martel and Koy Monette added one helper apiece.

Nic Fellion (three saves) and Cuinn Lydon (four saves) shared time in goal for Belchertown.

Aaron Blanchard (assist) netted three goals for the Saints. Byron Dudas and Edward Towers had one assist each.

Jermay Hoar (nine saves) and Colin Ramos (three saves) split time in goal for St. Mary (0-5).

Ultimate

Amherst Regional competed in the Paideia Cup XIV Tournament last weekend in Atlanta.

The Hurricanes finished second in the Boys A Bracket on Sunday. Amherst fell 9-8 to Columbia in the championship. Amherst beat Grady, 10-9, in the semifinals.

The Hurricanes went 3-0 in pool play on Saturday. Amherst beat Pennsbury (13-6), Hopkins (12-10) and Carolina Friends (12-10).

Amherst beat Hopkins 11-4 to finish seventh in the Girls B Bracket, Sunday. The Hurricanes lost to University School of Nashville, 8-7, in their B Bracket opener.

Amherst went 1-2 in pool play on Saturday. The โ€™Canes opened with an 11-4 win over Grady, but fell to Knoxville (10-6) and Paideia (9-8).
