This is addressed to persons who have recently written to the Gazette labeling opponents to president Trump as haters: Trump opponents are not haters. We care about people, our country, our families, democracy and the planet. We are appalled and frightened by what we see as Trump’s threats to what we hold dear. I don’t expect you to agree with this assessment, but I ask you to accept it as sincere. I am sorry that some of us have disrespected you. Most people who oppose Trump have learned by now that making derogatory comments about all Trump supporters is not helpful. I hope that all of us on all sides can agree to disagree respectfully. Peace.
