NORTHAMPTON – The body of an elderly man found dead in a tent in Northampton on May 5 has yet to be identified and may remain so for some time.
“Due to the condition of the body, the identification process is ongoing and could take several more weeks,” the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office wrote in a statement Monday.
The DA has said that the death does not appear to be suspicious and the cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The body was found in the woods off Marian Street near the Marian Street and Fitzgerald Lake conservation areas.
