The article on measles in the May 10 Gazette fails only in not describing the possible cost of measles to an individual.

It changed my life in 1938, resulting in a severe hearing loss. Though I am fortunate to have the effect mitigated by hearing aids, without which I would not have succeeded in a profession, it has nonetheless had a profound effect on my life.

Yet there are even worse possible consequences: encephalitis which can rob a person of their very personhood. As the article describes, those who refuse vaccination for their children risk not only their own, but others all around them, including newborn babies. Please, all of you, reconsider!
