I am upset and I am scared. In the midst of the current U.S. clamoring toward war with Iran, I think back to my World War II experience, as an 18-year-old GI landing in an amphibian craft onto the coast of France. We were responding to the French call for help to protect them from the Hitler/German invasion.

All I hear, now, is about the U.S. ( per Bolton and Trump) sending aircraft carriers, thousands of troops, a battery of Patriot missiles, and amphibian landing craft toward Iran, to threaten possible nuclear war and annihilation.

What I would like to hear, and that may be happening, is that Congress is listening and supportive of diplomatic negotiations with Iran. (Gazette, 5/16/19 โ€œTrumpโ€™s Iran maneuvers trigger alarm in Congress.โ€)

It is extremely important to us and for overall world security that we succeed at peaceful means of negotiations to avoid nuclear war between nations across international borders.
