Seeing this Goddess of Speed hood ornament on a 1929 Packard at a recent cruise night reminded me of my love for the Art Deco style. The Chrysler Building in NYC? One of my favorites. Paintings by Tamara de Lempicka? Fabulous. Glass by René Lalique? Amazing. Though I'm not sure why, the elegant, stylized, streamlined forms of the 20s and 30's have always wowed me. Maybe it's all of those Golden Age of Hollywood movies I watched growing up.
