SOUTHAMPTON – Cooley Dickinson will open an urgent care services center this summer in the Big Y plaza on Route 10.

On Thursday, June 27, there will be an open house at the urgent care, which next to Cooley Dickinson’s rehabilitation center at the plaza and in the same building as Big Y, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be public remarks at 4:30 p.m. followed by tours of the facility.

Services provided at the urgent care will include diagnosing and treating cold and flu symptoms, viral illnesses, cuts and minor lacerations, sutures and removal of sutures, minor burns, ear and eye infections, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, rashes, strains and sprains, minor fractures, and sports and camp physicals.

No appointments will be necessary at the center, which will serve people over the age of 18 months.

Kelly Charest, spokeswoman for Cooley Dickinson, said the urgent care will open this summer once the state licensing process is completed and an opening date is not yet set.

The Southampton facility will be the second place where Cooley Dickinson offers urgent care services.

The Southampton location will offer physicals and drug screenings, Charest said.

Urgent care in Southampton will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
