Conference speakers discussed love, not hate

In response to Jay Fleitman’s June 4 column (“UMass conference prompts questions for Jewish community”), I found the speakers at the UMass Palestinian forum last month to be voicing support for the Jewish people’s welfare, and to be adhering to the noble Jewish tradition of supporting human rights for all people.

For all people, Jews, Palestinians, all — they said this many times. Fleitman slanders these speakers — calling it “hate” — when they were speaking about universal love. Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump are practicing anti-Semitism when they cynically care for one side only, thus ignoring the Jewish prophetic message and meaning of the world.
