Those opposed to the smoking ban in Northampton’s business districts are incorrectly interpreting the intent of the law. It is to keep the air that we all breathe clear from second-hand smoke.

Sure, I care about the health of others, smokers or not. But I’ll be dammed if I want to breathe polluted air. If banning is the only way to stop my air from being polluted, then I support the ban.

Smokers are free to go elsewhere, but I wish they’d pick up their butts before they do, I’m tired of doing that for them (many times) too.
