BERNARDSTON — Massachusetts State Police have arrested a Vermont woman they say was carrying 1,100 bags of heroin in her car.
Police say 27-year-old Ashley Cloutier of Bellows Falls, Vermont was pulled over shortly before midnight Wednesday on Interstate 91 in Bernardston.
A trooper stopped Cloutier’s car in response to numerous 911 calls made about an hour earlier regarding an erratic driver, police said.
Officials say the heroin is valued at approximately $11,000.
Cloutier has been charged with trafficking heroin and multiple driving violations.
She was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Greenfield District Court.
