There is — or should be — absolutely nothing controversial about U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saying the U.S. is running concentration camps at the border. That is precisely what they are.

Those who would use the example of Nazi extermination camps, like Auschwitz, to deny that truth are utterly vile. Explainers-away of human suffering. Enablers of unspeakable cruelty.

Concentration camps — facilities where large groups of “undesirables” are held together in crowded conditions for an ostensible political or military purpose — existed before and have continued to exist after the fall of the Third Reich. Our own Japanese-American internment camps are properly labeled as such.

The question is what we do about it? Do we sit by and allow this to go on? Or do we take action? Now is the time. There is no other. What side are you on?
