To reply to the letter writer who urged ways to keep cool during hot weather other than air-conditioning, I applaud your solutions.
But they cannot and won’t work for many of us. That’s because the elderly, those with chronic illness, respiratory illness, heart, POTS and more rely utterly on our devices and can’t often get to the cellar.
So please, be aware of people who must have air-conditioning.
