Ashley Taylor allowed just two hits and no earned runs, but Frontier Red fell 7-5 to the Greenfield Grizzlies on Monday in a Suburban League 12U game in Greenfield.
Greenfield took advantage of four Frontier errors to stake itself to a 6-1 lead after three innings. However, Frontier (5-7) fought their way back to within three runs entering the last inning. It loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh inning, but managed just one run before the rally fizzled out.
Taylor had two hits, including a triple, to help her own cause. Claire Kirkendall had a pair of hits and an RBI while Delaney Fifield scored two runs to go along with her RBI single.
