I was a volunteer at the Northampton Senior Center since its opening on Conz Street. My husband and I volunteered in the bistro and with the brown bag programs.
Last Thursday, we had lunch at the bistro and to our surprise were greeted with a standing ovation by the patrons for our work as volunteers. It is an honor to serve them. I will miss the camaraderie we had with them.
It is very nice to be recognized for the work we do. We do not have enough volunteers, unfortunately.
I also make quilts for the critical care unit at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital as well as the Shriners Hospital. I will now have more time to devote to this endeavor. Quilting is my passion.
Please keep coming to the bistro, as Kevin puts out a great lunch. Let him know. Hope to see you all there for lunch someday.
Who knows, I may be back to volunteer someday in the future.
