The start of the new school year is a perfect time for all drivers to review the rules of the road. Here are some tips:
■Obey the speed limit.
■When you see a school bus with lights flashing and stop sign out, stop, it’s the law.
■When you see a crossing guard in the crosswalk with their stop sign up please stop for them.
■Come to a complete stop at all stop signs.
■Do not stop in the middle of a crosswalk.
■Use your turn signals.
■Keep your eyes on the road, not on your cellphone or your breakfast.
■Be courteous and patient.
And please slow down, let’s all try to make this a safe and happy school year for all students and drivers.
