Most often, flowers are grown in the front yard of a home to beautify it, while vegetables are generally grown out back. However, around this time of the year, pumpkins grace the steps and porches throughout the valley as fall decorations. When I saw this pumpkin patch on the lawn of a home near the intersection of Elm and Prospect streets in Hatfield, I thought it was a great idea. I think seeing the pumpkins still attached to its beautiful foliage makes a nice display. I especially like the vine in front, reaching almost to the street.
