One of the great things about this Valley is that we keep finding new activities that bring us together.
Smith College’s excellent Music Department provides free concerts open to all, and I am now auditing a superb course on JS Bach, for a small fee. It includes three students from Northampton High School, several Smith College undergraduates and three auditors. We range in age from 17 to 80.
Hopefully, community services by local colleges such as these can counter the national “graying” of audiences at classical music concerts.
