The Western Massachusetts Jewish Activists for Immigration Justice are very appreciative of the Gazette’s coverage of their actions all the way back to the June trip to Homestead.

In reporter Bera Dunau’s recent excellent article about the Oct. 6 March, Rally, and Tashlich Ritual at the Coolidge Bridge, some of the following sponsors and speakers were not mentioned. The following people and organizations are gratefully acknowledged.

Speakers included Cecilia Prados, a Mexican immigrant representing Pioneer Valley Worker’s Center; Maya Luhr, a high school senior who volunteered with RAICES helping immigrants in Texas after crossing the border; Henia Lewin, a child Holocaust survivor/educator; and Javier Luengo-Garrido, ACLU Massachusetts Immigrant Protection Coordinator. Sponsors included Pioneer Valley Workers Center, Indivisible Northampton, Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action (JALSA), and Prayground Minyan Pioneer Valley.
