NORTHAMPTON — A motorist hit a cyclist near the intersection of Main and Masonic Streets on Friday evening.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital, said Northampton Police Lt. Victor Caputo, but police are “not sure of the extent of injuries yet.”
Caputo could not say if the person was riding the bike, which was a ValleyBike, at the time that they were hit.
The call came in at 4:42 p.m. and shut down the portion of Main Street in front of Pulaski Park. Caputo said that he expected the road to clear up at around 5:30 p.m.
The driver was not injured, Caputo said, and is cooperating with police.
