BELCHERTOWN – A Belchertown man was hospitalized with serious injuries on Tuesday night after he was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing South Main Street near Town Hall.
Local police and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly at around 6:52 p.m. and traffic was redirected for approximately three hours, according to the Belchertown Police Department.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and the pedestrian who was struck was taken to an area hospital, according to police. Police did not identify the parties involved on Wednesday. The crash is under investigation by the Belchertown Police Department and Massachusetts State Police.
