NORTHAMPTON – Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Sylvester Road in Florence on Christmas Eve.
Police said a pick-up truck crashed into a tree shortly before 11:30 p.m. A man and a woman were taken to Baystate Medical Center with what Northampton firefighters described as significant injuries. Both occupants of the truck complained of leg injuries at the scene, Northampton Police Sgt. Joe Barszcz said Wednesday.
Firefighters used extrication equipment to remove one of the occupants who was trapped in the vehicle, according to firefighters.
Barszcz said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
